About the project
Studio Manager is Pixieset’s latest flagship product aimed at making photographer’s business workflows as beautifully simple as possible. The product works as a suite with different in-app products, which can be used together or independently based on the individual photographer’s workflow (which is a concept that backs all of product design at Pixieset). Offering invoicing and online payments, contracts and e-signing, questionnaires, reminders and other tools, Pixieset Studio Manager is positioned to become the go-to workflow and CRM app for photographers around the world; something Pixieset has already achieved with their Client Gallery, Store and Portfolio Website apps. As Pixieset’s Senior UX/UI designer, I was involved at all stages of design and creative direction, from early product conceptualisation through to high fidelity design, mobile UX/UI and branded launch.
I lead Pixieset’s group of designers with a mantra of “simple, easy and elegant”. We applied this way of design thinking to everything we created, whether it was an Instagram post or a new product. This was especially important in the CRM space, where many of the existing apps (and our now competitors) feature very complex sets of tools and features which often felt overwhelming. By building a deep understanding of the workflow needs of photographers, we were able to refine and hone a fresh market-changing product that always felt “simple, easy and elegant”, and what photographers needed and wanted.
